Liverpool Smash Manchester City At Anfield

League leaders Liverpool hosted last year’s champions Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday. The Reds took the 3 points with a huge 3-1 win that will be a result to remember in this Premier League season.

Man City had the lion’s share of the ball until a handball claim on Trent Alexander-Arnold went begging. LFC counter attacked & the ball was poorly cleared right to defensive midfielder Fabinho for this absolute rocket of an opener.

LFC were quick to double their lead on this fantastic passing from the Reds’ fullbacks Alexander-Arnold & Andy Robertson & finish from Mo Salah.

In the 2nd 45 minutes, City had some chances to cut the deficit in half but Liverpool got a 3rd. Captain Jordan Henderson crossed to Sadio Mane at the back post for a header that City keeper Claudio Bravo could only get a piece of.

Bernardo Silva pulled one back for the Cityzens but that was all they could muster on the evening.

LFC went 9 points clear of their opponents on the day & in the table with the win. The EPL now takes an international break.
