LSU Jumps Ohio State for #1 Spot, UGA at #4, Alabama down to #5 in College Football Playoff Rankings

The 2nd week of the College Football Playoff Rankings were revealed on Tuesday night & there was some controversy on where some teams were slotted.

First of all, I’ll do more of this on the pod but if LSU didn’t jump Ohio State this week there would have been a problem. Now to me the biggest wrong doing is UGA ahead of Alabama for that #4 spot. Teams with losses you not only compare their wins but I put who did you lose to & what type of game was it as my first talking point.

Bama just lost to the team the committee put #1, UGA lost to South Carolina who will not sniff these rankings within the next 5 years. If you want to argue UGA’s wins are better, that’s fine, they are. However!! For me, the loss matters more. That’s why I’d have Bama one spot further up.

One of my favorite parts of this whole charade of putting these rankings as a hour show each week is the interview with the committee chair. Rece Davis does a good job of not lobbing softballs but sometimes I wishes he held Rob Mullens feet to the fire a little bit.
