Washington Redskins Hire Ron Rivera

The Washington Redskins have hired Ron Rivera as their Head Coach.

“After several meetings with Coach Rivera, it was clear he is the right person to bring winning football back to Washington D.C.,” said Dan Snyder, Washington Redskins Owner. “He is widely respected around the league as a man of great integrity and has proven to be one of the finest coaches in the country.” (h/t Redskins website)

Rivera was out of job for a very small period of time after being fired by the Carolina Panthers earlier in the season.  In 9 seasons with Carolina, Rivera had a 76-63-1 regular season record and was 3-4 in the postseason including a Super Bowl appearance.
