German Bundesliga Set to Come Back in May

Some positive news in sports came on Wednesday with the German Football League announcing that the league will convene with the clubs on Thursday to discuss a plan to start playing matches again in May.

Out of Europe’s Big 5 leagues, the Germans are the first to have a set plan for a return to action. Earlier this month, the French Football Federation announced that the Ligue 1 & Ligue 2 seasons would be canceled and the leaders in the table would be crowned champions.

The England FA has stood strong that they want to finish the Premier League season and Italy’s and Spain’s federations seemed to be working on plans to resume Serie A and La Liga respectively.

However, it will be the Germans returning to the pitch first & of course without fans in the stands the atmospheres will be different but at least the matches will be played nonetheless.

Here’s a reminder of how tight the table is in the Bundesliga.

Munich is 4 points clear with Dortmund, RB Leipzig & Monchengladbach hot on their tail. When the matches get going again we could see a great stretch run across the Rhineland.
