Atalanta & Atletico Grab Final 2 Spots for Champions League Knockout Stages

The Champions League’s Group Stage wrapped up on Wednesday with Matchday 6 concluding. Only two spots in the Knockout Stage were available. Manchester City had won their group & Atalanta, Shakhtar & Zagreb were all clamoring for the 2nd spot in that table. It was Atalanta scoring three times in Ukraine & securing the upset & advancement past Shakhtar.

The only other spot that was up for grabs was from Juventus’ group. Atletico Madrid & Bayer Leverkusen were playing for second with Atletico taking on Moscow & Leverkusen hosting the Italian giants. Atletico pulled through & will be in the last 16 of the competition.
