Will Lutz 58 Yard Field Goal Gives Saints Last Second Win Over Texans

In the first matchup of the Monday Night Football double header, the foot of kicker Will Lutz led the New Orleans Saints past the Houston Texans, 30-28.

Lutz’s bomb from 58 yards as time expired was good enough for the win after Deshaun Watson had led the Texans down the field & into the endzone to take the lead with 37 seconds left.

Lutz & Drew Brees bailed out head coach Sean Payton’s poor clock management on the game winning drive. I think the Saints looked good at points but were seconds away from an opening loss where as the Texans should be proud of how they played on the road. But no morale victories for teams that want to win in this league only teams that don’t expect to contend. Texans proved they can be there in the final minutes against a good team but couldn’t close the deal.
