Liverpool Smash Southampton, Tottenham Drop Man City, Leicester City-Chelsea Draw

Premier League leaders Liverpool were home at Anfield taking on Southampton. After a goalless first half, LFC scored 4 in the 2nd 45 minutes. Mo Salah scored a brace & midfielders Alex Oxlade Chamberlain & captain Jordan Henderson both added their names to the scoresheet.

LFC have taken 73 from 75 points on the season & went 22 points clear of Manchester City who traveled to London to take on Tottenham.

A wild match to say the least ended 2-0 Spurs. Man City earned a penalty in the first half but Hugo Lloris made a huge save to keep the match 0-0. City went down to 10 men & then Tottenham struck. Debutant Steve Bergwijn scored & Son doubled the lead to give Spurs all 3 points.

Fourth place Chelsea visited the King Power Stadium for a date with 3rd place Leicester City & the match ended 2-2 with the teams splitting the points.

Manchester United & Wolves drew 0-0, as did Arsenal & Burnley at Turf Moor. The Premier League starts their “winter break” with teams alternating matches until the full stale resumes February 22nd.
